The First Thing I Learned As a Monk…

I am not a follower of Buddha, I’m a student of his teachings. It is a path powered by my own thoughts and own discoveries. And As I learn and grow I realize how breath is the most important part of my identity ,my Inner self, the core of who I really am.

The only thing that stays with us from the moment we’re born till the moment we die is our very own breath. It’s the peak and dips that remind us we’re alive and aware. All our friends, family,Relatives or Places we live in will dissolve and change one day.The only thing that does not change and stays with us forever from the moment we’re born to the moment we die is our breath..

Every Emotion is experienced with change in the breathing pattern.Notice when in stress how our breath changes. When angry how our breath responses. When sad how our breath distorts. When excited how our breath transmutes. It all starts and ends in the breath. Our very own breath..

We can actually use our breath to change our Life.Navigating and managing breath can actually help us navigate any situation or crisis in life.Imagine how athlete’s are taught to breath, dancers to be consciously aware of every breath. Fire blowing also known as fire breathing is a breathing trick frequently used by performers and magicians.Musicians and singers who play wind instruments take on some of biggest challenges with their breathing pattern.

The biggest thing about living as a Monk is we are not dealing with our challenges at symptomatic level Instead we are dealing them at root level, sure it takes longer to reach but the result lasts longer and the reward is an effortless harmony with our inner self.
